Last Friday, May 3, Nashville-based midwestern band Brother Elsey shared their anthemic new single: "Red Tape," now available on all major streaming platforms via River House Artists.
Produced by Drew Long, who worked with famed musical acts like KALEO and Judah & The Lion, and co-written with American singer-songwriter Madi Diaz, Brother Elsey's harsh but empowering new track captures the all-consuming nature of anxiety,

About Brother Elsey's 'Red Tape'
Underscored by an atmospheric swirl of overdriven guitars usual to the arena-rock soundscape of the band and topped off with an infectious chorus, "Red Tape" is released alongside an endearing music video comprising a behind-the-scenes look at the Detroit natives' road life.
"'Red Tape' is a love/hate song to anxiety," says vocalist and guitarist Brady Stablein who co-wrote the song with his brother and band lead guitarist Jack Stablein and Diaz.
"Our friend Madi Diaz was coming off of tour and we were as well," he continued. "We got to talking about the ins and outs of life on the road, how sometimes you get home and you almost feel like an alien."
Stablein sees this anxious feeling as a "big nasty cloud that tends to loom over what others see as 'the dream," also expressing frustration about the difficulty of talking about this certain hangup or searching for "the light."
"Sometimes you wanna just crash the car to get your head out of the rain, but we all know that's not the way forward," he shared. "'Red Tape' is about giving it to yourself straight - the only way out is going through it."
This particular track is the band's follow-up to their 2023 releases: their cinematic track "Passing Through" and their dreamy single "Babylon." These songs, in turn, come after the group's series of self-produced singles and EPs in recent times, notable of which is their 2021 album: "You Don't Know Anything."
The record also paved the way for a heavy self-booked tour schedule with performances alongside acclaimed acts like The Head and the Heart, Allen Stone, The Wallflowers, The War and Treaty, Boy Named Banjo, and SUSTO.
Comprised of siblings Brady Stablein (vocals and guitar), Beau Stablein (bass), and Jack Stablein (lead guitar), plus honorary kin Dalton Thomas (drums), Brother Elsey continues forging deep Midwestern bops made possible by their own musical connection with each other.
