James Levine & Evgeny Kissin [PHOTOS]

Two years ago to this very date--April 10, 2011--Maestro James Levine conducted his last concert with the MET Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Pianist Evgeny Kissin was there, too, to play Chopin.

So, in light of the fantastic news that Levine will finally be returning to the Metropolitan's podium (with Evgeny Kissin, no less), all of us here at Classicalite thought a scroll down memory lane was more than in order. 

Here was the programming for that Sunday evening two years ago, in case you were wondering:

FRÉDÉRIC CHOPIN, Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 11 
JOHANNES BRAHMS, Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73 
FRÉDÉRIC CHOPIN, Scherzo No. 2 in B-flat Minor, Op. 31 

Again, Kissin will be with Levine at Carnegie come Sunday, May 19 at 3 p.m. This time, though, he'll be playing Beethoven.
