Chris Hemsworth is one of the hottest stars today. Hemsworth had one hell of a year in 2014. The Avengers and Thor hunk took home People’s Sexiest Man of the Year accolade despite not putting out films. However, he did welcome two children with his wife Elsa Pataky (Fast and The Furious). Chris Hemsworth also almost lost his life and his family when their ship ran ashore while he was working on the set of his new film In the Heart of the Sea. Than a typhoon struck, threatening the lives of the cast and crew. Thankful no one on the crew was hurt. The trailer for the new Ron Howard film, also starring The Batman Dark Knight Scarecrow actor Cillian Murphy, has just been released. Hemsworth’s then pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky was with him on the set of In The Heart of the Sea, when their ship ran ashore.

Later, while filming the new film a typhoon hit the Canary Island, causing a massive mudslide. Thankfully everyone on the cast and crew escaped the mudslide, however, five others tragically died in the incident.

Director Ron Howard tweeted about the incident, saying:

“Rare heavy rain in La Gomera forced us to our small converted cover stage… Then our access road began to flood… Soon we were advised to wrap and evacuate. Pronto. Asap”
