Long before being known as the new break out star of the Oscar nominated hit, Gone Girl, Rosamund Pike was supposedly college besties with Chelsea Clinton. According to the latest gossip news updates, Pike's friendship with the former first daughter steadily grew for years until Hilary Clinton decided to run for office back in 2008. Word has it that Rosamund and Chelsea got into over politics, and once Pike openly picked Barack Obama to be her presidential candidate going into the race, their friendship ended forever -- which couldn't have made Bill very happy.

Most of the world is just getting to really know Rosamund Pike as an actress thanks to her award winning work in Gone Girl, but hard as it is to believe, Chelsea Clinton has known all about the actress even before she started her career.

A source claims in the February 9, issue of Star Magazine, that Chelsea and Rosamund became fast friends while studying at Oxford College in England, but when they returned to the states to talk politics everything quickly fell apart:

"They became really close and hung out a lot. They'd sometimes speak to each other in German.

"[Then] they had a talk one night about politics, and Rosamund made it clear that she preferred Obama's politics over Hilary's.

"Chelsea really took it to heart."

Of course, there is always the possibility that Chelsea got turned off by something far darker than just her pick for president.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, the 36-year-old actress admitted that if she was honest she could definitely see aspects of her psychotic character from Gone Girl in her own personality:

"I read the character and I felt, 'God. I could do this'...I've got this person in me, as disturbing as that is.

"It's much easier to say 'I've got Jane Bennett in me' than 'I've got Amy Dunne in me.

"But if you're going to be honest in your work, you've got to admit that you're complicated and you've got all the sides."

After reading that it really wouldn't be too surprising if a lot more of Rosamund's friends stopped talking to her.
