Suspended Brian Williams Fired by NBC, Fox Bill O'Reilly Accused of War Lies Too? [RUMORS]

Things keep getting worse for Brian Williams, who was recently suspended by NBC in lieu of lying about his past war coverage. New rumors suggest that the news anchor may have actually been fired from the network, however, he isn't the only broadcaster facing such damning claims. A new online report is also accusing FOX News' Bill O'Reilly of making up some facts, himself.

Are the rumors true? Has Brian Williams really been fired by NBC?

Despite what you may have heard over the weekend, Mr. Williams has not yet been terminated.

The once-loved anchor has, however, been suspended. And, in that interim, NBC has announced that they are conducting an internal investigation into his career.

But it's not just his war coverage that is being investigated. NY Times is reporting that Mr. William's coverage of Hurricane Katrina is also being examined:

"The 'fact-checking' inquiry, confirmed on Friday by several people in the network's news division, will review not only the Iraq incident, but also Mr. Williams's reporting during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, as well as any other issues that arise during the investigation... Richard Esposito, the head of NBC's investigative unit, will lead the inquiry. Mr. Esposito does not report to Mr. Williams..."

Although this is clearly a blow to NBC, they aren't the only network to face such damning allegations.

Our friends over at FOX News are also dealing with a bit of a crisis, as talking head Bill O'Reilly has also been accused of manipulating facts.

New York Daily News, however, doesn't see this as a big issue, because Brian Williams and Bill O'Reilly are (and should be) held to different standards:

"But there's a huge difference between O'Reilly and Williams. That's because Williams was a news anchor, paid millions to be as truthful and objective as possible. O'Reilly, on the other hand, is paid millions to get pissed off and yell about it on TV."
