CMA Announces $557,000 Grants

Chamber Music America (CMA) has announced the recipients of its 35th annual grant program.

Thirty eight U.S.-based ensembles and presenters from 18 states have been chosen to receive grants, total of $557,000, through three of its major grant programs: "Residency Partnership," "Classical Commissioning," and "New Jazz Works: Commissioning and Ensemble Development". 

For "Residency Partnership", 15 grants totaling $122,000 were awarded to ensembles and presenters engaged in a variety of activities in residency. They were selected from a pool of 62 applicants.

Thirteen ensembles and presenters, chosen out of 102 applicants, were selected for "Contemporary Classical Commissions" with $205,000 total.

Through its "New Jazz Works" program, CMA awarded 10 composer-led jazz ensembles, selected out of 167 groups, with a total of $230,000.
