Recently Disney Channel star Calum Worthy announced that he was going to get gay married to his Austin & Ally co-star. Finally fans had a real answer as to why Ross Lynch (Austin) and Laura Marano (Ally) could never be together in real life the way so many fans had been hoping for. But of course it was far from true. Calum, being the clever fox that he is, took advantage one fan’s joke tweet to raise awareness for a very special cause, the Climate Reality Project. The 24 Hours of Reality event, planned for Nov 13, in Paris, was understandably overshadowed by the tragic attacks that struck the city that day. Paris and the rest of the world will never be the same following this horrific assault on humanity. However, Paris and the rest of the world not be defeated so easily. The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference will still take place this Dec, in the City of Light. So we thought we take a little time to highlight Calum’s cause.

Recently, Calum Worthy announced that he had some very big news, tweeting:

Of course it didn’t take long for the fans to use this as an opportunity to ship Calum Worthy and Ross Lynch:

All joking aside the big news was that he would be hosting the social media segments for Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, 24 Hours of Reality event in Paris.

“I just arrived in Paris for the #24HoursofReality which is a 24 hour show starting tomorrow at 6 pm!!! (Paris Time) with @ClimateReality.”

The official Climate Reality Project website lays out a part of their mission, reading:

“This December, world leaders will meet in Paris to determine the future of our planet. We're uniting voices around the world to deliver one simple message: Take Climate Action Now. Zero global warming pollution. Zero extreme poverty.”

Unfortunately that very same day as the event, Paris, and the rest of the world, were rocked when ISIS members attacked the City of Light.

Following the horrific attack, it is hard to focus on any other issues. However, despite the attacks, world leaders are still planning to move ahead with the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
