Weekly Reprise: In case you missed it earlier in the week, Hamilton creator and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda may have saved Alexander Hamilton’s legacy. Miranda met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew where they discussed Alexander Hamilton’s fate on the $10 bill.
Earlier in the week, Lin-Manuel Miranda told the world about his meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, tweeting:
“I talked to @USTreasury about this on Monday. Sec. Lew told me ‘you're going to be very happy.’
A spokesperson for Secretary Jack Lew released a statement about the meeting, saying (via NBCNews):
"The Secretary thanked Miranda for the ingenious way in which he has been able to tell Hamilton's story and ignite a renewed interest in one of our nation's founding fathers. Secretary Lew also reiterated his commitment to continue to honor Alexander Hamilton on the 10 dollar bill."
“We didn't talk about $20 at all. The secretary just said Ham fans'll be ‘very happy’ about the new $10.
