Arcade Fire Violinist Sarah Neufeld Plays from 'Hero Brother' Debut at The Kitchen on February 14

A Classicalite approved venue, indeed, The Kitchen will play host to yet another unique musician this month. Violinist Sarah Neufeld of Grammy-winning indie rockers Arcade Fire will grace the West Side stage with her new solo project.

Neufeld will perform selections from her debut disc Hero Brother (Constellation Records), a record that eloquently melds her influences (Steve Reich, Iva Bittova, Arthur Russel) with her own notions of what a violin étude can be.

As we told you back when it first came out, Hero Brother was recorded in Berlin by Nils Frahm and features Neufeld's instrument everywhere from an abandoned geodesic dome to an underground parking garage.

And now, we'll hear her in Chelsea.

So, keep your date and your iCal open for February 14. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

Lovers tickets can be purchased here for a mere $15--cheaper than either dinner or a movie.

Until then, here's Sarah Neufeld's "Forcelessness." It's a title Classicalite considers more than apt.
