Seattle Seahawks Earl Thomas, Marshawn Lynch, Others Get Slimed For Kids

Russell Wilson isn't the only member of the Seattle Seahawks that gets a kick out of helping kids. The last two weeks have seen an explosion of activity from members of the Super Bowl winning NFL team in the form of charity and entertainment events centered around kids, from the announcement of the upcoming Strikes For Kids Super Bowl Party to last week's Nickelodeon inaugural Kid's Choice Sports Awards Show. They even got slimed for their troubles.

Marshawn Lynch and Earl Thomas will take turns this September hosting a Super Bowl celebration in participation with Strikes For Kids, an organization dedicated to pairing pro athletes with youth enrichment programs across the country. Joe Allen, the founder and CEO, says it's about the kids (via Field Gulls):

"'The main things we try to share at our events are fun, being comfortable and accessibility to the athletes that these fans root for every Sunday,' Allen said in a press release about the event."

Thomas and Lynch also participated in the first ever Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Sports Awards, and they both got covered in that trademark substance Nickelodeon got famous for back in the 80's (via Seattle Pi):

"Thomas and Lynch were among the athletes who got slimed - yes, covered in neon-green slime - at the TV network's inaugural sports-awards show Thursday. That's what you get, it seems, when you don't win one of Nickelodeon's contests or awards."

Of course it make sense that Thomas would be interested in doing kid-related events since he is a proud papa. He says his daughter really made him re-order his priorities (via Fox 13 Washington):

"Seahawks safety Earl Thomas says football has always been No. 1 in his life, but when his baby daughter 'started saying daddy, and she said "I love you" and she kissed me, that's better than an interception.'"
