Samsung Galaxy Grand Specs Released, Price To Be Confirmed

Samsung released its fourth smartphone for the year, the Galaxy Grand, comes off on the heels of the Galaxy S III, Galaxy S III Mini and the Galaxy Note II.

The new hardware will sport a 5-inch TFT LCD touchscreen and will have a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The device will also utilize Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is available with either one or two SIM-card slots, according to wired.com.

Other specs for the new Samsung smartphone include an 8-mega pixel rear camera and 2-mega pixel front facing camera with the set up similar to that of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note III.

The Galaxy Grand will rock a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and just 8GB of internal storage. The phone comes with a microSD card slot so users can add as much as 64GB of storage according to wired.com. The Grand will also operate on GSM and HSPA+ networks but no LTE connectivity has been announced.

The Korean-based company has yet to announce the price and carriers of the new device but wired.com believes that when they do, it the phone will be a mid-range model whenever it goes on sale.

When stacked up against previous Samsung models, the new Grand has inferior resolution and the Grand's massive screen doesn't come close to the 1280×720 of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II. Experts say that such specs may turn potential buyers away because it won't be great for HD gaming and video of any kind.
