Bieber, Kutcher Prnak Call Hoax, Juvenile Arrested

Police have arrested a juvenile they say is responsible for prank calls to the homes of Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher according to CBS.

The juvenile apparently been making calls to the stars homes and was reporting incidents of violence to authorities. One call resulted in police going to Kutcher's home.

According to CBS, The Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday refused to provide any details about the suspect, who was arrested on Dec. 10 and is no longer in custody.

Prosecutors were reviewing a possible case against the person, who police say may be responsible for multiple hoax calls intended to provoke large police responses.

The calls are now referred to as "swatting" because it gets SWAT teams or multiple officers to show up at a person's home.

"The swatting practice is extremely dangerous and places first responders and citizens in harm's way," police said in a news release.

According to CBS, police said that the person reported multiple people had been shot at Kutcher's home on Oct. 3 and reported shots fired at Bieber's home a week later. The celebrities were not home at the time, and officers determined that no one was injured.

Police say the prank calls made it through their electronic system prompting them to  respond to the calls.

"It's fortunate that no one has been hurt or killed. That's what our fear is," said Lt. Andy Neiman, reports CBS' KCAL-TV in Los Angeles. "We respond to one of these incidents where somebody says shots have been fired...and officers go in there...and unknowing victims come out. They're surprised because the police are there. We're very fortunate no one has been hurt."

Its being reported that the FBI and Long Beach Police Department were involved in the investigation and that the prank caller also made calls to the home of Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell.
