Adrian Peterson Married, Won't Carry Ball Much In Preseason After Son Murdered Last Year

Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson is not going to see much action this preseason. Nothing's wrong; the Vikings just don't want to risk injuring their primary offensive weapon during an exhibition game. But just because he won't carry the ball much, it doesn't mean he won't get a workout, because Peterson just got married. It must be a relief to have something good happen after the tragic loss of his son last year. His two-year old boy was allegedly murdered by his mother's boyfriend.

Vikings fans need not worry about Peterson's lack of activity during the NFL preseason. They're just saving him for when it counts.

The premiere veteran has the confidence of his coaching staff and teammates (via SB Nation):

"It's not like Peterson needs the carries by any stretch of the imagination.

"He's carried the football 2,033 times in the regular season for 10,115 yards with 86 touchdowns. It's probably safe to say that Peterson has a grasp on things."

As for Peterson's love life, the newlywed Viking has reportedly known and been involved with his blushing bride for years. Ashley Brown recently told reporters that her new name was Peterson, according to TMZ:

"We're told Adrian and Ashley have been on-and-off since Adrian's college days. As we previously reported, Adrian has 6 children ... and at least one of those is with Ashley."

Still, marital bliss can't erase the tragic loss of his young son last year. Joseph Robert Patterson, the boy's mother's boyfriend, had allegedly been abusing the child and ultimately killed him. He suffered severe head injuries, according to reports.

Despite the unimaginable loss of a family member, we wish Peterson happiness and a safe and successful season with the Vikings.
