WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan, born Bryan Danielson, and his wife Brie Bella came home from the airport last Thursday to find robbers looting their house. Thinking on his feet, Bryan followed them into the alley behind their house and caught up to one of them, subduing him with a rear naked choke hold until police arrived on the scene. The home invasion occurred the same day as his appearance with Sting and Hulk Hogan at San Diego's Comic Con. In a press conference the following day, Daniel also mentioned that he will need more surgery to repair the serious neck injury he sustained in April of this year.
In the span of one rollercoaster day, Bryan had the Comic Con, news from his publisher about an impending autobiography; followed by the bad news that he will need additional surgery, only to come home to find his home being burglarized (via Cage Side Seats):
"I had a very interesting day yesterday. So I started off my day in San Diego at Comic Con doing a press conference with Hulk Hogan, Paul Heyman, and Sting. Like, it was crazy... Then we get home and boo, robbery!"
Daniel Bryan is obviously a very sensitive man. He is a vegan, he loves dogs and he is an environmentalist. So it was no surprise when he got choked up talking about a precious memento which was recovered from the burglars (via Cage Side Seats):
"Bryan talks about the burglars nearly making off with a bracelet he got from his father, who just passed away, that read 'to the man that you've become, and the son that you'll always be'. That's the last memento he has of his dad and he's very thankful they dropped it."
According to Bryan, the news that he needed additional surgery was delivered to him before the incident and does not seem to have exacerbated his condition.
