After months of rumors that Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z, who is accused of cheating on his wife, are headed towards divorce, it seems like concert ticket prices have not suffered. The breakup rumors came shortly after Jay Z was involved in an elevator fight with Bey's sister Solange, and the claims have yet to wane.
Despite claims that Jay and Bey are seriously considering breaking up, the rumors have done little to alter the pricing of tickets for their On the Run tour.
According to Forbes, there really hasn't been a difference one way or the other:
"So how has the attention affected secondary market ticket prices for them on the road? According to at least one source, not very much at all...For most events, ticket prices tend to peak shortly after the on-sale date. They then trend downward until roughly a month before the event, at which point they rise again as the day of reckoning approaches."
Their insider, who is the co-founder of TickPick, claims that On the Run tickets followed that exact trajectory. Even with all of the tabloid fodder, the prices remained constant.
Of course, that little bit of evidence won't be enough to keep the couple out of the tabloids. That was evidenced by a recent article by Mail Online.
According to one source who spoke with the publication, Jay Z is actually planning a vacation to spend some alone time with his wife. There does seem to be one bit of bad news, however.
Beyonce is reportedly not as certain of their future as Jay Z, and may even be looking for her own place in New York:
"[Jay Z] adores his daughter Blue Ivy and he wants a sibling for her, but Beyoncé isn't sure what she wants to do--their marriage is in flux, that's the truth. Jay just wants them to spend some time alone together to try and work it out."
