Despite day time talk show host Ellen DeGeneres' best efforts to keep the public image of her marriage to her Arrested Development wife, Portia de Rossi, blemish free, rumors that they are near divorce have dogged the Hollywood hot couple for moths upon months. According to the latest gossip news updates, a salacious tell-all penned by Tinsel Town biographer, Randy Jernigan, is said to reveal cheating by both ladies in addition to all the shocking drunken verbal brawling. Word has it that Ellen has recently been acting like she will do anything to keep the Scandal guest star from deciding to split, but some folks suggest that may have more to do with the launch of her lifestyle brand than any overwhelming affection for de Rossi.
For someone who tries to manage her image as meticulously as talk show host Ellen DeGeneres does, the revealing new bio by Randy Jernigan has to be at least somewhat troubling.
The good folks over at Celeb Dirty Laundry claim to have gotten a sneak peak at the book, and they say it's going to rock even the staunchest of Ellen supporters:
"Several new excerpts reveal more shocking details about Ellen and her marriage.
"Randy claims that both Ellen and Portia have always had a 'tumultuous marriage', and both of them have cheated on each other in the past.
"He also claims that Ellen has battled depression and mood swings in the past, which has led her to become extremely controlling of Portia and those close to her."
The latest round of rumors seemed to all suggest the DeGeneres was ready to change for Portia and had even stoped drinking in front of her alcohol addled wife.
Another source sited by CDL insists, however, that Ellen's recent about face may have far more to do with what's best for DeGeneres, than what's best for de Rossi:
"[Ellen] doesn't want anything to go wrong with the fall launch of her new lifestyle brand, E.D.
"Hundreds of millions of dollars are riding on it!"
Well...that has to, at least, get Portia excited when she thinks about those future palimony payments.
