New York City Ballet Kicked Off Winter 2013 Season

Well known ballet company New York City Ballet located in ‘the city that never sleeps’ kicked off its Winter 2013 season.

Following company’s successful annual run of Balanchine’s ‘The Nutcracker’ play, New York City Ballet will highlight works of Peter Ilyitch Tschaikovsky.

The page of New York City Ballet featuring special program which highlights Tschaikovsky’s celebration, features a quote of Savannah Lowery, soloist: “I never feel more like a ballerina than when I’m dancing to Tschaikovsky. His music is feminine and graceful — it was meant to be danced.”

A four week celebration of Tschaikovsky’s captivated melodies will feature Serenade, Mozartiana, Swan Lake, and The Sleeping Beauty, choreography by George Balanchine. Those are just a few picks from the list.
