It looks like the rumors of a short engagement for George Clooney and his London lawyer girlfriend, Amal Alamuddin, are true. The exact wedding date has yet to be confirmed. But Batman has already got the necessary wedding license, and word has it his fiancé wrapped up her bridal shower at the beginning of the month. According to the gossip news updates, the soon-to-be newlyweds have a year before the license expires but everyone expects them to be married by the end of September.
It looks like it's time for all the folks that said that George Clooney would never get married to Amal Alamuddin to get ready to eat their hats.
According to People magazine, the lovebirds have all the paperwork already in place to getting married right this minute if they wanted:
"The engaged duo have now secured their marriage license...he couple got their license in London, which is where Alamuddin, a star lawyer, is based.
"Photos show a notice posted publicly outside Chelsea Old Town Hall (a legal requirement for U.K. citizens) announcing that the two plan to wed."
George and Amal reportedly have an entire year before the would have to apply for another marriage license, but according to Life & Style everyone expects them to be married in matter of weeks--not months:
"Amal's mother flew with her into Milan on August 1.
"They had just returned from Amal's bridal shower in the U.S."
The publication also site the current preparation of Lake Como, Italy--the suspected location of the nuptials--as a clear indication that things will be picking up shortly.
Even the highest officials there are said to have the upcoming wedding on their radars and have taken precautions to deal with nosey paparazzi through the end of September:
"The town mayor has implemented some strict measure that aim to keep away the public.
"No one is allowed to stand in groups or idle on the road adjacent to Clooney's properties, nor are boats allowed access beyond 100 meters from the lakefront in form of his home."
And god only knows what they are doing to increase security around the Bat Cave.
