New ‘Doctor Who’ Number 12 Peter Capaldi Talks Companion Clara After Jenna Coleman Quitting in Christmas Special Rumors

Recently the new Doctor Who Peter Capaldi has been opening up about his relationship with his companion Clara. However, she might not be his companion for much longer. It has been reported that Jenna Coleman might be taking her last trip in the Tardis this Christmas. Could Clara really be quitting the series?

Peter Capaldi recently spoke to TV Guide about the new Doctor’s relationship with Claria:

“I think she succeeds in dominating him, telling him what to do. She can only get so far with that. Then he'll turn. He often turns."

Capaldi recently spoke to The Sunday Times,  about how he isn’t get too comfortable with Clara (Via io9):

“There'll be no flirting, that's for sure. It's not what this Doctor is concerned with. It's quite a fun relationship but I did call and say, 'I want no Papa-Nicole moments.' There was a bit of tension with that at first, but I was absolutely adamant.”

However, it is starting to look like Clara might not be around much longer. It has been widely reported that Jenna Coleman will soon be quitting the show. The Daily Mirror recently spoke to unnamed source who told of Coleman’s alleged exit:

“The conversations about Jenna’s exit have started, and a plan is in place which is being ironed out..By the time she leaves she will be one of the longest-standing companions ever. She has been absolutely brilliant in the role, but everyone agrees it is a part that should change after a period...It’s important to keep the series moving and fast-paced, and the time is just starting to feel right and the feeling is that it could be a perfect Christmas storyline.”

Radio Times reached out to a BBC spokesperson who could not confirm or deny Coleman’s reported departure:

“It’s speculation at this time. People will have to watch the series to see if she’s coming back or not.”
