Oh, Aphex Twin, your silly idiosyncrasies are still so timely--and this time, calling yourself a "fartist" may have taken the cake as your most incredible description to date.
Yes, we here at Classicalite are not above the toilet humor that is fart jokes, and perhaps it's what a "fartist" can contribute to the modern realm of music that really gets our imaginations going (or- dare I say, "farting").
But under the self-assumed moniker, Aphex Twin, expert techno-engineer Richard D. James has been teasing the Internet with a funny blimp exhibition at London's Oval Space and then a very cryptic, deep web announcement of his upcoming LP SYRO, a follow up to his well-received 2001 release Drukqs.
Albeit, there's a lot of weirdness that boils in the back of James' artistic output (I mean, I remember being in high school and watching Aphex Twin's Rubber Johnny and having to sleep that night with the lights on) but there's something to his irreverent and ambiguous presence that adds to his persona.
But back to "fartism." In the words of James, via his liner notes released to the Internet, his descriptions are less cryptic than they are just downright strange:
Whenever one of the most celebrated and influential electronic fartist, Richard D. James can compete with the music flip to influence built. The better part of a decagon, James Polygon Window, Caustic Window, GAK and maintain, including 'Aphex Twin has unreleased music under several thousand monikers great pace.
And, to no one's surprise, the track list came equally disturbing:

Regardless of your fandom, this guy is on to something strange and it just would be a shame to miss out on what comes next.
