Broke Kate Gosselin Child Abuse Rumors Wane After New Twin Show and Salary Revealed?

Following months of child abuse claims, Kate Gosselin finally got a bit of good press--she and her twins have a new show coming out on TLC. This is reportedly very good news for Kate, who is rumored to be going broke.

Fans of Kate Gosselin (or just televised train wrecks in general) are in luck! The reality TV mom will be back on television this December.

The news comes just months after TLC aired a two-part special. The episodes centered around her life, following the hugely successful Jon & Kate Plus 8.

It looks like the ratings were high enough to earn Kate a second chance and a hefty paycheck. According to one insider who spoke with Radar Online, Kate may be able to pay for her kids' college after all:

"Kate's making more than $40,000 per episode of the new special series, but it's not clear yet how many episodes there will be...Right now they're only locked in for one season...The twins will be going off to college in five years and then she has six more to put through, so she desperately needs these TLC specials."

This is likely welcome news for Kate, who spent the majority of the summer facing claims that she abused her children. The most damning allegations come from Robert Hoffman, who wrote a tell-all book about Gosselin.

While it's evident that Mr. Hoffman's book is biased, that didn't stop many media outlets from reporting on the contents. According to Hollywood Life, excerpts from the book are truly shocking:

"Kate allegedly used something called 'the spanker' to hit her children until they were 'happy' again...The book also reveals that Kate often wrote in a private journal about her troubles disciplining the children, and even believed her son Colin, 2 years old at the time, did things specifically to annoy her. Colin spent a lot of time sitting in a corner staring at the wall as punishment for his 'intentional' bad behavior."
