Word has it that Nick Cannon's father, James, is speaking out about the public accusations that his son's split from Mariah Carey has anything to with the America's Got Talent husband's cheating. According to the latest gossip news updates, James Cannon insists that whatever may have cause them to divorce--infedilety was never an issue in their marriage. In related news, comedian Mike Epps has been chosen from by Lee Daniels to play Richard Pryor is the award winning director's upcoming biopic, despite rumors that Cannon was hardcore campaigning for the job.
The internet is ablaze with all sorts of speculation about Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey's failing marriage in light of the America's Got Talent host revealing to TV's The Insider that they have been living apart for months.
According to Page Six, Nick Cannon's father, James, isn't buying any of the nonsense about his son sleeping with other women.
The elder Cannon insists that Nick was a dedicated family man that would have never been interested in that sort of thing:
"The only thing I can say is that sometimes marriages break down because of cheating or beating, but that's not this case.
"Were temptations ever there with other women? Not for Nick, he genuinely loved the married life.
"I know Nick tries really hard to stay focused and would say: 'I'm with the most outstanding, gorgeous woman. I've hit the jackpot so why would I be with someone else?'"
James didn't have all positive things to say about his little boy, however; apparently his dad thinks that if Cannon had sacrificed a bit more for Mariah success, they could have been unstoppable:
"If Nick could have somehow ran her business or worked in conjunction with her they would have been such a power couple in Hollywood...It's difficult, but look at Beyonce and Jay Z."
For all the good his solo campaigning to play Richard Pryor, says TMZ, Nick may as well have just focused on getting Mariah the role:
"Despite openly campaigning for the role of Richard Pryor in the upcoming biopic, Nick Cannon did not get the role...Mike Epps did.
"Cannon was very outspoken about wanting the role, posting a pic on Instagram of himself and Pryor. "
Oh well...guess he'll have to wait until someone makes that Cedric the Entertainer movie.
