Instagram feet model Taylor Swift's first official foray outside of country music--"Shake It Off", one of the songs from her new album--is a an absolute hit. The summer super-single, debuted at no. 1 and went gold in its first week of availability--the only single this year to do so. Not only is the Twitter fan favorite a pop music juggernaut, Ed Sheeran's bestie reportedly makes a top-notch babysitter as well. According to the latest gossip news updates, Katie Holmes Giver costar/girlfriend often makes time to hangout one-on-one with Tom Cruise's 8-year-old daughter, Suri.
Despite the ever present haters and accusation of racism, Taylor Swift' s new single "Shake It Off" is the most popular song of the year.
Since this is reportedly set to be Taylor Swift's first official foray into the music world outside of country music, it is probably safe to say that the old fans of Taye-Tayes may have to wait a couple of records before they hear any more steal guitars.
To hear Forbes tell it, Swift has no real competition when it comes to moving summer singles these days:
"Taylor Swift's surprise new single "Shake It Off" has officially debuted at number one, to the surprise of very few in the industry.
"The ode to ignoring the haters sold 544,000 copies in it's first week of availability. The track is Swift's second number one hit, after 2012's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together".
"Both songs debuted at number one, which speaks to the demand for new Taylor Swift music.
"'Shake' is the only song this year to debut with over 500,000 copies sold, earning it a gold certification immediately."
The best thing about Taylor is that even with all the success she still makes time for the little people in her life--like the literally little, Suri Cruise.
According to a supposed insider, who spoke to OK! Magazine for their September 8, issue, Swift is just as good friends with her Giver costar Katie Holmes's daughter as she is the Dawson's Creek actress:
"Suri really lit up when Taylor surprised her in Katie's trailer.
"They spent an hour chatting that day, and Taylor still makes a point to spend time with Suri in New York City--whether it's going to Katie's for baking sessions or teaching her how to play the guitar.
"[After one playdate Swift said,] 'We had our nails done, ate sushi and talked about our lives.'"
Plus, you burn off like 35-thetons just by talking to one of those Cruise kids.
