American's figure skating champion Michelle Kwan marries Clay Pell in a beautiful ceremony at the First Unitarian Church in Providence, Rhoda Island over the past weekend. Kwan glowed in an elegant white Vera Wang wedding dress, according to People Magazine.
The couple met back in April 2011 and Kwan confessed that it was love at first sight to the magazine. Michelle, 32, and Pell, 31, were joined by 250 attendants to celebrate their special day.
Pell is the grandson of late U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell. Pell wore a full uniform honoring his roots at his wedding. He currently is the National Security staff director for strategic planning at the White House. Kwan is also serving as the Department of State public policy envoy.
Kwan told People magazine after they were engaged, "I never was one who believed in love at first sight, but I have to admit it happened for us."
“I felt there was a magnetic connection between us. I thought he was the one from the beginning."
The two revealed to People magazine that they both share the desire to start a family and live a life of public service.
Kwan has accomplished a lot for a 32-year-old. She has garnered 43 championships in her figure skating career, more than any other skater in America.
