It turns out that Green Bay Packers lineman T.J. Lang knew the cop from Oklahoma City who has allegedly sexually assaulted at least 7 women while on duty. Daniel Holtzclaw, the alleged rapist, was a college teammate of Lang at Eastern Michigan University. Lang is reportedly shocked and dismayed at the horrific allegations against his former friend.
According to TMZ, Lang was horrified to hear that his former teammate could possibly be capable of such brutality (via TMZ):
"Lang -- who played at EMU from 2005-08 -- tells us, 'He was one of my best friends. I'm totally shocked... He was one of our captains. Guys looked to him for leadership... I'm praying for him ... but more importantly I'm praying for the victims.'"
The vicious crimes Holtzclaw is accused of having committed so far include at least 7 women who say Holtzclaw attacked them, including a 57-year old grandmother who was overcome when she heard he had been accused by someone else (via CBS News):
"My heart started beating fast, my hands started shaking. Only thing I could do was turn my head to keep the tears away. Nothing else would come to my mind but that's him!"
