R5 Ross Lynch ‘Teen Beach Movie 2’ and New ‘Austin & Ally’ Update After Teen Choice Awards 2014 Win

There is no new Austin & Ally on this weekend, but don’t worry, The hit Disney Channel series will return with all new episodes in mid September. Fans can also expect to a lot more of R5’s Ross Lynch in the future. The Teen Choice Award winner will return to beach in 2015’s Teen Beach Movie 2. The follow up the original Disney Channel Movie has officially been greenlit.

Ross Lynch recently brought home the Teen Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy. After the win, Lynch tweeted a message to his fans, writing:

“Just woke up… I think I have more tweets to read now then when it’s my birthday. Thanks everyone! I don’t know how you do it. Thanks for the support and appreciation for what I love to do. Hopefully guys love it too…Co-star

Lynch’s on screen best friend, Calum “Dez” Worthy, honored him with an award all his own, Tweeting:

“Wow! @rossR5 won the #TeenChoiceAward?!? Not surprised he’s always the winner of the #CalumsChoiceAwards,”

Ally actress Laura Marano joined in on the action, adding:

“AHHHHHHH Congrats @rossR5 for winning a flipping TEEN CHOICE AWARD LAST NIGHT.”

Fans of Teen Beach Movie will happy to know that a sequel to the hit musical is on its way. Director, Jeffrey Hornaday is returning to direct the new film. Last year Hornaday spoke to Hollywood Life about the sequel:

“If they feel like they have a story that’s worth telling, they’ll put all their energy and support behind it. I like that they don’t go somewhere with things when they don’t know what to do; once they zero in on something organic, like the last one was, I’m sure they’re going to jump in hard!”

According to TV Line, several members of the cast will return including Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Garrett Clayton, John DeLuca, Jordan Fisher Will Loftis, Chrissie Fit, Kent Boyd Jessica Lee Keller and Mollee Gray.
