Ardea Arts Inaugural 'Bouncing Into Opera' at Cornelia Street Café on September 14

On Sunday, September 14, Ardea Arts will host their inaugural performance and brunch, Bouncing Into Opera, at the Cornelia Street Café in Manhattan. The yearly event will benefit Ardea's current works in progress, The Three Astronauts and BOUNCE: The Basketball Performance Event.

BOUNCE combines live music, theatre and basketball with libretto by author Charles R. Smith, Jr. set to music by composer/violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain. BOUNCE continues Ardea Arts long time effort to turn on the young generation to opera combining theater, literature and sports.

Grethe B. Holby, the executive and artistic director for Ardea Arts, will give a presentation during the event as well.

The performance and brunch includes hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. There are discounted early bird tickets available now until September 5 for those under age 35. A "Friend of Ardea" ticket option is available as well for $120 including a prix-fixe brunch. All other tickets can be purchased at eventbrite.com.

Ardea Arts, founded in 2006 by Grethe Barrett Holby, is a nonprofit production and development company dedicated to creating and performing new age opera and music-theater works. The focus of Ardea Arts is to involve the community in all aspects of production, composition and enjoyment of their works.
