Despite Mixed Reviews, Interpol Keeps Poise on Letterman Performance of 'All the Rage Back Home'

It's always been hard to pull off performing well on television--but not in the case of Interpol, who brooded with incendiary poise on Letterman in light of their much discussed LP El Pintor.

David Letterman is usually open-minded about bands that come on to perform (even if he doesn't really seem to "get it" he's always quite enthusiastic) and now he wants to be annexed into their ranks.

Honestly, it wouldn't be a half-bad idea. But the cool grace that they exude when performing "All the Rage Back Home" is still mystifying. Paul Banks leads and despite having lost a central member, they seemed tighter than ever.

Interpol just stopped by Other Music for an in-store signing for their limited edition white vinyl copies of the disc. If you had a chance to wade through the city to get there, your copy could be a part of the upper echelon of rare copies.

While the album has been met with mixed reviews, the "cool" is still there for the band who didn't falter on the TV stage. But don't take my word for it, check it out.
