PowerHouse Arena to Host Bloomsbury's 33 1/3 Book Series’ 10th Anniversary, 100th Volume Party on October 2; Release Textbook How to Write About Music' in 2015

powerHOUSE Arena in DUMBO is hosting a party in celebration of Bloomsbury's  33 1/3 book series’ 10th Anniversary (and 100th volume). The October 2 event will feature live music and music trivia in honor of the music book series focused on exploring a single album at time.

The event will feature a slew of authors including Carl Wilson of Volume 52: Celine Dion’s Let’s Talk About Love and Susan Fast's 100th volume in the series: Michael Jackson’s Dangerous, to be published this September.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 2.

The series will continue to celebrate through next year with the forthcoming textbook How to Write About Music: Excerpts from the 33 1/3 Series, Magazines, Books and Blogs with Advice from Industry-leading Writers.

The textbook, edited by Marc Woodworth and Ally Jane Grossan, is set to be released in February of 2015.

How to Write About Music includes a selection of the series' best writers along with new interviews and insights from working authors.

The text will also include sources on the album review, the personal essay, the blog post and the interview along with tips, writing prompts and advice from the 33 1/3 writers themselves.

The authors will give advice and information from their work on: Neutral Milk Hotel, J.Dilla, The Rolling Stones, Joy Division, Lana Del Rey, Nirvana, Nas, Radiohead and many more.
