Chris Jericho Injured after Cage Match with Bray Wyatt, Attacked by Randy Orton and match with Kane Headed Into Night of Champions?

Veteran WWE Superstar Chris Jericho sold a major knee injury on Monday Night Raw last week when he squared off against Bray Wyatt in a steel cage. Jericho sold it so well some people assumed it was his blow off match before leaving to go on tour with Fozzy, but when Randy Orton attacked Jericho backstage after the match, it now looks like Jericho has a mini-feud with the Authority now. All of a sudden Jericho has a match with Randy Orton at Night of Champions. This past Monday on Raw, Jericho pinned Corporate Kane in a pretty fierce match heading into the Pay-Per-View.

Kane is unpopular with hardcore fans, and I don't know why. Perhaps it's the disappointment of his character being used so often for comedy. But it taints their perspective (via Cage Side Seats):

"I can't remember the last good Kane match -- it probably came against Daniel Bryan -- and Chris Jericho couldn't get a good one out of him here either. Seemed like a waste, really, considering the situation. Where was Randy Orton? Why wasn't Jericho selling the knee that cost him the Bray Wyatt match last week?"

Kane actually moves really well in the ring- maybe better than he did in the 90's. But I digress.

The Randy Orton angle is kind of rushed and random, but even if their feud doesn't really have legs, that should be a good technical match at Night of Champions.

At least the beat down Orton gave Jericho was vicious enough to inspire a kayfabe rant about the need to end the senseless backstage violence on wrestling TV shows (via Cage Side Seats):

"Some might argue that the backstage of a televised WWE event is fair game. I don't agree with that notion, as surely the infirmary must be hallowed ground. That's where wrestlers go when they're too hurt to compete. That's the only reason to be in there!"
