PAPE14: Metropolitan Opera Offers Free Glass of Champagne with René Pape Solo Recital Ticket Purchase

We've written about it before, but now there's an incentive--meaning the upcoming performance from renowned bass René Pape on September 28 at the Metropolitan Opera will be giving away a free glass of champagne with the price of a ticket.

Not like you needed it, though, as Pape is widely regarded as the "preeminent lyric bass of our time," according to the Wall Street Journal.

His solo recital will feature works by Beethoven, Dvořák, Quilter and Mussorgsky featuring Camillo Radicke on piano.

Pape will return to the Met this fall season as Banquo in Verdi's Macbeth, which stars singing superstars Anna Netrebko, Zeljko Lučić and Joseph Calleja. He will also don the role of Sarastro in Julie Taymor's production of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.

So, don't miss out on a legend as he makes a rare chamber stop at the Metropolitan Opera.

Buy your tickets here...and enter the promo code PAPE14 to receive your complimentary glass of champagne!

In the meantime, here's Pape singing Wagner live from the Met during their 2012-13 season.
