Pianist André Watts Returns To The Philadelphia Orchestra Joining Forces With Maestro Frühbeck To Perform Beethoven's "Emperor"

Pianist André Watts returns to Philadelphia joining forces along with conductor Maestro Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos to perform Beethoven's grand Piano Concerto No. 5 titled "Emperor."

The program that will run approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, will also include Bach's "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme," Hindemith - "Concert Music for Strings and Brass," as well as  Liszt's "Les Preludes."

At age of 26, classical pianist André Watts, became the youngest person that received an honorary doctorate from Yale University. Watts' extensive discography includes works by Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert, to name a few. André Watts is included in the Great Pianists of the 20th Century series for Philips.

In 2006, André Watts celebrated his 50th anniversary of his debut with The Philadelphia Orchestra and was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl of Fame.

In 2001, Watts received National Medal of Arts from President Obama for his great contribution to the arts in the USA.
