The Deadpool movie has official been confirmed! The internet went nuts after test footage for a new film featuring Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern) leaked online earlier this year. Now 20th Century Fox has a release date for the long awaited movie.
Ryan Reynolds spoke with Niagara Falls Review recently about the new film and the leaked test footage:
“ "The movie has been in a state of limbo for a while. There was such an overpowering reaction to the footage, you sort of feel like, ‘Oh, so we weren’t crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.’ It’s interesting to see the power of the Internet. It’s awe-inspiring, actually,”And it’s neat that Twitter and Facebook and Instagram can move mountains when used in the right way.”
Reynolds previously played the role of Wade Wilson in the poorly received film, X-Men: Wolverine Origins. Reynolds also starred in DC’s Green Lantern, which was also poorly received. However, it should be noted that Ryan Reynolds’ performance in both movies was received generally favorable reviews. Despite all of his successes, Reynolds has had strong concerns about his failures, as he added:
"As an actor, you're always kind of cognizant that you'll never work again. You always have this lizard brain fear, always, just under the surface, that this is it. Because you see it. I've been fortunate enough to have a 23-year career so far and I've watched people come and go, and vanish. I've watched really talented people never find that invaluable foothold into the industry. So you're always kind of walking that tightrope of being very grateful that you're in this position--and also wondering how much longer you'll be in this position."

The Deadpool film is scheduled for a February 12, 2016 release.
