610 Stompers Member Scott LeBlanc Surprises Bride-to-Be Daughter with Cruise Ship Dance Routine

New Orleans-based all-men dance group 610 Stompers member Scott LeBlanc organized a dance for his daughter's wedding.

According to CNN affiliate WLOX, 610 Stompers member LeBlanc surprised his daughter while onboard a cruise with her soon-to-be husband.

Founded in 2009 and named after Interstate Highway 610, the Stompers' slogan is “Ordinary Men; Extraordinary Moves.” The 610 Stompers famously launched themselves in time for the 2010 Saints Super Bowl Championship parade.

“We don’t want men who want to dance, we want men who have to dance,” said Mont “Big Bird” Creamer, executive director of the group. “You gotta be able to nail the dance moves, you gotta be able to be taught, and you gotta seem fun.”

Ranging in age from 23 to 66, the signature look of 610 Stompers is heavyset, white and hairy.

This year’s selection categories on the judges’ score sheet included: “Do you want to have a beer with this guy?”

In spite of their outward image, the 610 Stompers have raised $35,610 for the Autism Society this year.

Although the Stompers receive four or five requests per week to work local events, they typically turn them down.

“The dancers are all volunteers with 9-to-5 jobs,” said Creamer. “So even if we get the best event in the world, if it’s at 10 a.m. on a Wednesday, we can’t do it.”

The tube sock, gold shoe laden men plan on dancing for years to come.
