The Mindy Project is all new tonight on Fox. Check out the preview below to see what is in-store on the all new episode. Meanwhile, the show’s star/writer/ producer, Mindy Kaling has opened up about wanting advice from Tina Fey and her character dating Captain America Chris Evans.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, titled, “Annette Castellano Is My Nemesis,” reads:
“Mindy strives to impress Danny's mom when she comes to the city for a visit. Meanwhile, Morgan tries to stand his ground in his relationship with Tamra.”
Recently, Vulture visited Mindy Kaling on the set, where she opened up about being three seasons in and still not having it all together:
“There have definitely been times when I’ve wished I could ask Tina Fey, ‘What do you … ? How do you … ?’ Because, like, all you’re doing is answering questions! If I could make a device where people could just intuit everything you are thinking--a little cable you plug into, like, a USB port, I would make a billion dollars.”
However, despite not having the “device,” Kaling is still able to express what makes her show different from the other female lead comedies :
“I just wanted to do a show that is kind of about dating, about someone who thinks about love all the time. One thing that is different than other shows is that my character is weirdly, extremely confident. She feels like she should be dating Chris Evans. That’s something I learned from writing for Michael Scott. He thought he was going to marry Teri Hatcher, even though he was constantly being told that was not the case.”
