Disney's 'Frozen' Gets a Hard-Pressing Tribute at Select Stores This Record Store Day on November 28

The continuing efforts of Record Store Day have now extended into the pockets of extreme youngins. Ice Queen Elsa from Disney's hit animated film Frozen will get a special picture disc tribute on plastic vinyl at participating stores on November 28.

This is a great initiative to try and bring hard-pressings to a much younger generation (perhaps so young they will think it's a Frisbee).

Hitting select stores the day after Thanksgiving, participating outlets will carry a vinyl single featuring "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" on one side and "In Summer" on another.

Dubbed "Back to Black Friday" it's the fifth annual initiative of RSD. This vinyl, too, follows a One Direction picture disc that sold in April and peaked at No. 21 on Billboard's Hot Singles Chart.

According to Wondering Sound, sales of music vinyl were up 43 percent by value for the first half of 2014. On all formats the Frozen soundtrack was the year's best-selling album at the halfway point according to Nielsen SoundScan.

With a claim by Urban Outfitters to be the world's largest vinyl retailer, hopefully November 28 can bridge the gap between a dying medium and a worthwhile resurgence.
