This fall, New Amsterdam Records will present Sound / Source, an all-day electronic music festival at MoMA PS1. Produced in collaboration with L3M, the October 19 event will feature Tyondai Braxton, Paul Lansky (with members of Roomful of Teeth), Vicky Chow and Tristan Perich, Holly Herndon, Alvin Lucier and Huerco S.

The event also signifies the release of Vicky Chow's new album, Surface Image, via New Amsterdam Records featuring compositions from Tristan Perich.

The day-long exploration of electroacustic music will be accompanied by a set of sound instillations by: Nate Boyce and Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), in the Boiler Room of MoMA PS1 as well as Daniel Wohl with Olga Bell and Caroline Shaw on the Richard Serra Room on MoMA PS1's roof and Lucky Dragons in the MoMA PS1 elevator. Synthesizer extradionaire Moog will make an appearance by way of an electronic installation of handcrafted instruments.

The event focuses on the interplay between human and machine sounds with a live performance of pieces from Paul Lansky's series of Idle Chatter compositions on its 30th anniversary. This new version of the vocal arrangement will be performed by members of Roomful of Teeth as well as an 8-channel surround sound arrangement performed by Lansky himself. The compositions will be discussed by Holly Herndon in a panel.

MoMa is hosting an after-party in the MoMA PS1 Print Shop with a set by Huerco S.

Tickets to the event are $20 and can be purchased here. MoMA / MoMA PS1+ members receive a $18 ticket price in advance by calling (718) 784-2084 and choosing extension 0 during museum hours or in person at the Box Office.
