‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Finn Wittrock Talks Dandy Mott, Francis Conroy and Twisty The Killer Clown [SEASON 4] [SPOILERS]

American Horror Story Season 4 is off to a killer start, and the biggest freak in the Freak Show, isn’t the lady with two heads. Finn Wittrock’s spoiled brat, Dandy Mott might look like a nice boy, but don’t let that fool you. Underneath the expensive clothes and dashing good looks lies the heart of the of a monster. Now Finn Wittrock is opening up about on-screen mother, three-season vet, Francis Conroy and Twisty the killer clown.

Finn Wittrock’s Dandy Mott might just be the creepiest freak in American Horror Story: Freak Show. The young up-and-comer, recently spoke to TV Line about just who Dandy really is:

“ [He’s] ‘a kid who never grew up.’ We talked about a kid who’s incredibly wealthy but emotionally stunted at a certain age, and we’ll learn that there was some trauma in his youth--and also that there might be a bit of incest happening. We’ll also learn that maybe, more broadly to say, psychosis runs in the family…..I have a playroom with croquet courts, a puppet theater…. Dandy wanted to be an actor, so he’s a frustrated thespian. And because Mom wouldn’t let him be an actor, he has to express himself in other ways, by generally impressing harm on other beings.”

American Horror Story series regular, Francis Conroy plays Dandy’s doting mother. Wittrock also opened up about Dandy’s relationship with his mother, adding:

“It changes every episode, but he’s still very, very dependent on her, yet he’s trying to claim his independence, as you kind of do in your adolescence. Except his form of finding himself goes in a very dark direction.”

However, Dandy’s most twisted relationship is with Twisty the clown, as Wittrock describes:

“He becomes very enamored by the clown and becomes his acolyte. The clown basically becomes his role model for life. He wants to be him. And he might succeed to a degree.”
