Susan Boyle Makes Acting Debut In Max Lucado’s “The Christmas Candle”

Scottish singer Susan Boyle is making her acting debut in a period drama "The Christmas Candle." The movie is based on a novel "The Christmas Candle" written by a best-selling writer and preacher Max Lucado.

The movie is set in Victorian times in an English village. Besides Susan Boyle, "The Christmas Candle" also stars British actors Lesley Manville, Samantha Barks, and Sylvester McCoy, the Doctor Who star.

For the shoot, the village has been transformed with fake snow, holly wreaths, including roasted chestnuts.

Boyle will be performing a song for the movie along with her on screen husband. Boyle siad through the message on her official website https://www.susanboylemusic.com, "He's been helping me learn the ropes with acting and I've been helping him with the singing! It's a good screen marriage."

In her post, Boyle mentioned that during a day off she visited her record label to discuss her album number five. Boyle didn't provide any details regarding her new project, just said, "Sorry folks, you're going to have to keep guessing a wee bit longer. Surprise is good!"

The singer shared that she had a great time while filming, "This will be my last full week on set and although I'm looking forward to returning home I will most definitely miss the wonderful team on The Christmas Candle. It's been great being a part of the tight knit community, with many a giggle and story shared."

Boyle also mentioned that she would definitely like to continue with her acting career alongside with singing career, "fingers crossed this debut goes well and who knows maybe Hollywood will come chapping on my door."
