Last week, “King of the Waltz” André Rieu released Love in Venice on Decca Records. His latest album features three of his own compositions for the first time. Naturally, all three are dedicated to the beautiful city of Venice.

To follow, Rieu has announced an accompanying DVD and U.K. tour slated for a December 5 start.

What's more? Classicalite has the exclusive video of a live performance of "Non Ti Scordar Di Me."

“I'm asked in almost every interview I do whether I'm a romantic,” said Rieu.

“Of course I am! Venice, La Serenissima, is for me the epitome of romance, he continued.

“For many years, my wife and I have taken our own personal trip once a year to Italy. I'm a big fan of the Italian way of life. And so my new album is a declaration of love to Venice and the fantastic music of this country. And I hope that it will bring back the happiest of memories for you, the listener.”

Rieu’s Venetian ode includes classic Italian hits "O sole mio," "Volare," "Santa Lucia" and even the famous Barcarole by Jacques Offenbach, Also included here is Johan Strauss' glorious "Lagoon Waltz."

The title track, "Love in Venice," is written by André, along with "Bella Tarantella" and "La Gondola."  Each of the pieces on the album is given a sprinkling of stardust from Maestro Rieu, performed in his own unique and unforgettable way.
