Things have changed quite a bit since ABC's primetime Scandal prepared for its mid-winter hiatus last year. While Kerry Washington is no longer pregnant and Columbus Short has been fired, the fans are still tuning in in droves for Season 4. According to the latest gossip news spoilers, Short is already dating a new steady girlfriend, despite the very public and disturbing accusations of extreme domestic violence against his ex-wife.
ABC's hit political drama, Scandal is about to go an hiatus until February, but from the looks of things it won't be losing any fans over the break.
According to Variety, not only is Shondaland still absolutely dominating all its Thursday night competition in the rating week-in and week-out, for some shows that audience is still continuing to grow:
"Scandal was up 10% week-to-week to hit a six-week high in adults 18-49 (3.2 rating/9 share, 10.0 million viewers overall), according to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, winning the 9 o'clock hour by 3 shares over the CBS comedies and also prevailing in total viewers.
"Compared to the same November sweep night of a year ago, ABC's Thursday lineup was up 33% in adults 18-49 and 30% in total viewers."
Perhaps, that explains part of the reason why Scandal's lead, Kerry Washington, feels like things couldn't be going better for her or her career right now (via Us Magazine):
"I feel healthy and alive and like I'm taking good care of myself. Then I'm available for all the other parts of my life that need me to be the best version of me."
Even Columbus Short seems to be back on cloud nine these days--now that he has found a new woman to love/allegedly assault.
Even though he is still married to a woman that claims Short tried to murder her less than a year ago, an unbelievably brave Rashida Russell told TMZ that all she has to worry about now that she's Columbus' girlfriend is where they are eating for dinner:
"He treats me like a queen!"
Yeah...well, Rashida, Columbus made his last wife feel like a queen too--Queen Anne Boleyn.
