It has been one year since the Xbox One was launched, and in that year gamers longed in over 2 billion hours on the system. To celebrate, Microsoft is letting everyone with an Xbox Live Gold account, play Sunset Overdrive, free of charge for 24 hours. That is not all. Xbox is also giving loyal first year buyers some pretty cool exclusive content, including an exclusive achievement, and free rentals of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods. The company will also be giving away some extra goodies to lucky winners, including some Xbox One system bundles.
Happy Birthday Xbox One! The One is turning 1 and Microsoft is offering some pretty sweet freebies to their loyal followers.
Pending certain restrictions, early Xbox One adopters will be receiving a special celebrations email featuring a few goodies.
Accoridng to the Xbox.com Xbox Wire blog, some of the free thank you gifts will include:
"A Year One Gamer Picture.
"New Xbox One backgrounds: A special Year One background as well as an exclusive Day One background for those who unlocked the Day One achievement.
"A Year One background image for use on Twitter, your desktop, etc.
"A free rental of 'Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn' (for a limited time).
"A free rental of ‘Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods’ movie and a sampler pack of ‘Dragon Ball Z’ TV episodes (for a limited time, available in the U.S. and Canada only).”
In addition to the thank you celebration emails, some lucky gamers have a chance of winning some pretty awesome prizes, including Call of Duty: Advance Warfare and Sunset Overdrive bundles, just to name two.
