The play started with its previews on February 18, 2013, followed by the opening night on March 7, at Vivian Beaumont Theater.

'Ann' directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein, tells the story about Ann Richards, an American politician and 45th Governor of Texas.

Writing a play became a four year journey for Taylor during which she wanted to discover the secret behind Ann Richards' success in her private life as a wife, mother and grandmother as well a secret behind the success in her public life as politician who positively affected lives of many. Taylor watched videos coverage regarding Richards and traveled the country interviewing people who knew the politician.
