Tonight, ABC’s hit crime drama Castle is all new with an action packed episode. Check out the plot preview below to see what is in store for Castle and Beckett tonight. It has been reported that Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s contracts are up at the end of the year. That leaves some to wonder if the show will be canceled or renewed for an eighth season.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Castle, titled “Last Action Hero,” reads:
“A well-known action-movie star from the 1980s is killed, so Castle and Becket look into the actor's past and get some investigative assistance from his aging former costars.”
The all new episode of Castle, airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. eastern on ABC.
The fall finale airs next week, titled “Bad Santa.”. Soak in all the new episodes you can because there might not be more left. Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion’s contracts are reportedly up for renewal at the end of the season.
Recently,Stana Katic spoke to TV Lineabout the possibility of the show not getting renewed:
“Well, I think it really depends on…. I don’t think that a show should overstay its welcome….If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it’s better to stop when you’re on top, because I admire the way that they did that with The Wire, you know? Tell a great story and then go home and move onto something else. Don’t milk it ‘just because.’ So for me it’s about art over finance, and as long as we’re creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we’re good to go. And when we find that we’re not, when we don’t have anywhere else to go, then it’s time for everyone to pack up and move onto the next thing. But I don’t know where it’s going to end.”
