Bob Dylan Announces Frank Sinatra Cover LP 'Shadows in the Night,' Shares Cover of 'Full Moon and Empty Arms'

Bob Dylan has been the man of the hour recently with his latest release, The Basement Tapes Complete. But, it's been announced via the Tambourine Man himself that Feb. 3 will be the release date of the forthcoming Sinatra cover, LP, Shadows in the Night.

As a pre-release, Mr. Dylan shared his version of "Full Moon and Empty Arms," a song famously sung by the lounge king, Frank Sinatra. He's also confirmed that the album will include other Sinatra classics such as "Stay With Me," "What I'l Do" and "Where are You."

A track list can be found below.

Dropping via Columbia records, the disc will serve as the newest set of recordings since 2012's Tempest and will, surely, consist only of Sinatra jams.

In a statement from the musician, he said, "It was a real privilege to make this album I've wanted to do something like this for a long time but was never brave enough to approach 30-piece complicated arrangements and refine them down for a 5-piece band. That's the key to all these performances."

He went on to add: "I don't see myself as covering these songs in any way. They've been covered enough. Buried, as a matter a fact. What me and my band are basically doing is uncovering them. Lifting them out of the grave and bringing them into the light of day."

Feb. 3 can't come soon enough. But for the time being, take a listen to the cover below and also check out Joni Mitchell's top notch impersonation of Bob.
