‘Pan’ Blackbeard Hugh Jackman Talks ‘Wolverine 3’ and ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Casting After ‘Old Man Logan’ Movie Rumors: Is Cancer Survivor Too Old To Play Hero?

Hugh Jackman is one tough mutant. The Pan (Blackbeard) star has survived cancer, and the rigorous wear of eight Broadway shows a week. However, even Jackman can’t fight father time. The aging actor has been playing the slow-aging Wolverine for nearly two-decades. Recently, Jackman teased that he may stay attached to the character for another two films, at least. Could X-Men: Apocalypse and The Wolverine 3 be his last film’s in the franchise or will he live long enough to make an Old Man Logan movie?

Recently, Jackman appeared on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, where he was asked about his future as Wolverine, (via Slashfilm):

“I have been speaking with the guys and I am not at liberty to tell exactly what’s going on. Which is largely framing my answer here. But there’s still a lot unknown, actually, about that. What I do know is there are some very exciting things about integrating the whole X-Men world, including the Wolverine movie. There’s some really cool things going on.”

Jackman did confirm that he will make to Wolverine 3 at least, adding:

“[James] Mangold and I are working on it really hard and I’m very very excited about that, actually.”

However, Jackman might not be playing the character too much longer.

Earlier in the year, the 46-year-old actor, teased that his time as Wolverine might be coming to an end, telling IGN :

“I’m sure they had the discussion. They didn’t mention it to me, obviously! [Laughs] Look, that’s inevitable, man. Anyone who thinks they're indispensable in this business is fooling themselves. But I feel unbelievably blessed to have this part. I never thought in a million years I'd get to play him seven times. Every day I walk on the set with the claws and the hair, I thank my lucky stars. I don't take any of it for granted.”

Then again once Jackman gets too old to play modern day Wolverine, he can also take on the role of Old Man Logan.

What do you think about Jackman’s comments? Do you think he should leave the role behind? Would you like to see an Old Man Logan movie? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
