Yo-Yo Ma, James Franco, Bill Clinton and More Pay Tribute to Stephen Colbert in Final Episode of 'Report'

Stephen Colbert was surprisingly composed in the last episode of his beloved news satire The Colbert Report, which ended on Dec. 18 and featured guests such as James Franco, Katie Couric, Jon Stewart, Yo-Yo Ma and so many more.

The Comedy Central personality aired the last episode with the standard shtick, never breaking character even in the ultimate episode of his evening show. Colbert, though, will take over David Letterman's post on The Late Show in 2015.

Not a bad switch over, obviously, but it's a program that has transcended a television talk show to an actual identity — one that created a Super PAC, lobbied Congress and held its own rally — of course, in character.

A spin-off from the correspondent's circle of Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, the show featured a wide array of guests from ex-presidents like Bill Clinton to imprisoned punk rockers Pussy Riot and more.

Congressman, columnists, the National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection and Counter-Terrorism, astronauts, anchors, soccer players, Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Patrick Stewart, activists, his wife and kids and so many more all paid tribute to the show's end in a final song.

Here's a salute to the long-running television phenomenon that has become a staple of dinnertime television across the nation, Stephen Colbert: you will be missed.
