Neil Patrick Harris is on top of the world these days.Now that his CBS series, How I Met Your Mother has ended, Harris is really expanding his resume.The four-time Tony Award host won a Tony of his own this year,as well a lot of other awards, for his role as Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. Now Harris is gearing up to host the Oscar Awards. A new promo for the upcoming Academy Awards has been released. The new promo for the 87th Academy Awards has been released, featuring host Neil Patrick Harris:
Harris is seasoned pro when it comes to hosting, winning an Emmy award for his gig as Tony host. He has even hosted the Emmy awards, although they didn’t give him a Tony for that.
The 87th Academy Awards airs February 22 on ABC.
Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka will appear in the final three episodes of FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show. Harris will appear in episodes 11 and 12, with Butka showing up for the season finale.
Harris recently spoke to EW Radio about how he landed the role:
“I wrote a letter to Ryan [Murphy creator] asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn’t even available to be in it. To do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can’t wait!”
Ryan Murphy responded by inviting him on the show, via Twitter:
“@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love.”
Harris takes over the Freak Show on January 7.
