Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album - 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' (15x50)

Going track-by-track, in 50 words or less, through all 15 of E.L. James' favorite classical music.

Today, on Classicalite's final day of this 15x50 venture..."Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" from Cantata No. 147.

All told, Ol' Bach shows up three times on this mix. Still, Bulgarian-born pianist Alexis Weissenberg is just the man to play him out. Maybe a bit quicker, more dynamic than we're used to hearing, Bach's chorus of "Jesu bleibe meine Freude" is pure joy, nonetheless. E.L. James must've heard the same thing that Bernstein, Szell, Karajan, Muti and Ozawa did.
