Daniel Lopatin, of Oneohtrix Point Never, Coins Third Score for Ariel Kleiman Feature, 'Partisan' to Debut at Sundance

The mastermind of Oneohtrix Point Never, Daniel Lopatin, has now coined his third film score. This time, he's lent his scoring services to the Australian director Ariel Kleiman and his debut feature, Partisan.

A thriller, the film stars Vincent Cassel and is set to make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this January. Produced by Warp Films, the visual end of Warp Records (where Loptain is signed), the plot is shrouded in mystery, though there's a short synopsis online.

Per Pitchfork, the plot reads: "Alexander is like any other kid: playful, curious and naive. He is also a trained assassin. Raised in a hidden paradise, Alexander has grown up seeing the world through the eyes of his father, Gregori."

In concludes: "As Alexander begins to think for himself, creeping fears take shape and Gregori's idyllic world unravels."

And per Fact Mag, last year Lopatin re-scored Koji Morimoto's 1995 anime Magnetic Rose. In 2013 he also worked alongside Brian Reitzell scoring the Sofia Coppola film The Bling Ring.

Cassel, who dons the lead role, has previously appeared in Black Swan, Irreversible and even Shrek. A trailer has been released for the film and can be viewed below.

So until Sundance, preview Partisan now.
